AR-15 Lower Receiver Assembly Build Course

The lower receiver is the foundation of the AR-15 system, and incorrect component selection or assembly can lead to reliability, recoil, and cycling problems. This course focuses on assembling an AR-15 lower receiver using correct tools, specifications, and techniques.

Students will learn how lower receiver components interact with caliber, barrel length, and gas system configuration, with specific emphasis on buffer system selection and setup. Proper installation methods and torque values are covered to ensure safe, consistent operation.

Topics covered include:

  • Required tools for lower receiver assembly
  • Component specifications, including proper buffer system matching to caliber, barrel length, and gas system
  • Evaluation of buffer systems for different intended uses
  • Proper installation techniques and torque values for lower receiver components

This course is designed to give students a solid technical understanding of lower receiver assembly and configuration decisions.
