This course is an intermediate level course that builds upon Precision Applications’ AR15 Defensive Carbine – Setup & Maintenance course.  It covers basic tactics and techniques for deploying a carbine in a defensive scenario.  Home defense scenarios will receive special attention since it is the most likely location a defensive carbine will be deployed for someone outside law enforcement or the military.  The tactics and techniques covered are broad enough to apply to any defensive carbine, but heavy emphasis will be paid to the AR15 platform due to its high popularity.

Examples of topics covered include:

  • Low light and the use of flashlights
  • Malfunction clearance
  • Reloads and magazine changes
  • Use of optics
  • Basics of room clearing
  • Basics of working in teams
  • Use of cover and/or concealment
  • Transitioning from shoulder-to-shoulder
  • Transitioning to secondary weapon
